It was many many years ago that I’ve joined WhatPulse, and I’m still active. Sadly though I started with another account that was deleted due to inactivity because I after a while started a second account because I didn’t like the username for the first account. So of course I lost a couple of millions there.

And what is this WhatPulse you might ask? It’s a program that counts (only counts) how many times you press a key as well click your mouse and how far you’ve draged your mouse.

Add two years on that, and thats how long I’ve been active on that site.

And it was in late 2009 they finally made the big news. They finally released a client for Mac and Linux. So far there have only been a client for Windows which made it quite hard to be active when you used Linux a couple of times through the years.

And why do I use this? It’s fun to see how much you actually type over the years, even if it’s only on you own computer if you dont install the program on every computer you might touch, and of course, compete with others. And when you’re having a coding-streak you actually see that due the high key-count that week/month.

20,455,167 keys, clicked 6,408,417 times and moved his or her mouse for 329.33 miles.

The numbers might not be that high, but as I’ve said, I had two account where one got deleted and I’ve used GNU/Linux a lot over the years.
